LAVADA THAXTON married WILLIS PONDER Doniphan, Ripley Co. MO. b. 5 Sept 18[97 appears to be scratched out]. Their children: 1.) Georgia Jo Ponder b. 28 April 1917 Doniphan; 2.) John Ponder b. 26 Oct. 1914 Doniphan, MO; 3.) Willis E. Ponder b. 29 Oct. 1920 Doniphan, MO.
GEORGIA JO PONDER married ALFRED CHARLES WILLIAMS JR. b. [blank]. They have one son: Alfred charles Williams III born: 11 April 1948 Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Charles Williams III has 2 sons: 1.) Michel Scott Williams b. 15 May 1973; 2.) Marshell Todd williams b. about 1976. Georgia Williams lives in Doniphan, Missouri & owns Williams Clothing Store in Doniphan, Missouri.
JOHN PONDER 1st married a Miss Muriel Harding. They have one daughter 1.) Muriel Ann Ponder born: 20 May 1947 San Jose, Calif. Muriel married John Nourse May 20, 1973. John & Muriel have 2 sons: 1.) Andrew Nourse b. 5 Aug. 1983 Calif.; 2.) Ion Nourse b. 12 June 1987 Calif. John Ponder then married Miss Sarah Curci. John & Sarah live in San Jose, Calif. and owns and lives on a walnut ranch.
WILLIS E. PONDER, only info. I have at this time is that he lives in Arroyo Grande, Calif.

Abstracts from Ripley County Records, Obituaries 1874-1910:
15 Jan 1886 – Miss Lide Thaxton, 19, d. Monday evening at mother’s home on Briar Creek – consumption.
27 Jan 1888 – Ed Thaxton d. yesterday of injuries
21 Sep 1888 – I. C. “Crit” Thaxton, 22, died at home on Briar Creek 18 Sep of inflammation of the bowels. Death deeply lamented.
25 Jan 1900 – Mrs. Elenor Thaxton d. on Buffalo last Friday, 19 Jan. Mother of Henry and James, Mrs. I. R. Edwards, Mrs. Lem Fogle.
02 Aug 1900 – Mrs. Lem Fogle d. last Friday. Had been ill a long time. Husband and 6 children surviv, also brothers Henry and James.
15 Aug 1901 – James and Henry Thaxton are planning to erect a monument to their father who is buried on the old Camp farm now owned by Hood.
24 May 1906 – Herschell Thaxton, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Thaxton of Bennett, d. of convulsions at the Colony for Feeble Minded at Marshall, Mo. on Tuesday evening. Remains are to be brought homne for burial.
[Note: When Vance Webb accidentally shot himself in Los Angeles in 1906, Harry Thaxton brought back his remains.]
12 Sep 1907 – Mrs. Henry Thaxton, wife of H. C. Thaxton, of near Bennett, d. at 4 a.m. last Friday at Manitou, Colorado. Remains will be returned for burial at Carrie. She was 40; had lung trouble. Sister to Louis, Frank and Walter Hicks. Also had a son Howard, age 20.

Bk E:582. James Madison Williams, late of Henry Co., Tenn., to N. G. Thaxton, late of the said county, 200 acres on the waters of Briar Creek. $28.00. The deed was presented by Williams in Callaway Co., Ky., and recorded 06 Jun 1860 in Ripley County.
E:640. John W. Davis and wife Nancy to William H. Thaxton, all of Ripley County, 200 acres. $300.
