From the Deseret News, 14 Jun 1882, the obituary of Cherrizade Thaxton Misner (daugher of James William Thaxton and Helen Averett, granddaughter of Williamson Thaxton and Mary Ann Sherry, great-granddaughter of Thomas Thaxton and Hannah Williamson):
In Shonesburg, Kane County, May 29, of milk fever, CHERIZADE, daughter of James and Helen Thaxton, and wife of Alfred Misner, aged 26 years.
She was born in Manti, Sanpete County, and came with her parents south, in 1862. This unexpected bereavement leaves four children, one only nine days old, without a mother’s love and watch-care.
Sister Misner was a dutiful daughter, affectionate wife and mother, and lived in the esteem of all who knew her. This afflication is rendered still more severe by the absence of her husband in Arizona. The writer, with others, blessed her just previous to her death. and can but feel her faithful life has secured a resurrection with the just.
