Article regarding the suicide of “Grandpa Thaxton, 80 years old” who lived near Blossom, Lamar Co., Texas. From census records and the name of his neighbor, this individual was listed as S. A. Thaxton b. 1832 [date appears wrong, based on this article and age of his wife] with wife Sarah b. 1820, both Tennessee, in the 1900 census. They lived in the household of their daughter Emma Thaxton (b. 1870 Kentucky), who married Augustus Newton Keys. Could this actually be William Riley Thaxton, who disappeared from Simpson Co., Kentucky, with wife Sarah after the 1880 census? Update: Yes, it is — see note below the linked PDF.
