Definitive proof that Mary Thackston Scott of Davidson Co., Tenn., was a daughter of John Thackston

In Cumberland County, N.C., Deed Book 13, p. 150, 12 Apr 1794, William Scott of Bedford County, Virginia, quit claims his interest in a one-fifth share of the estate of James Thackston (otherwise known as Col. James Thackston, son of James Thackson and Mary Wimbish), to which he would be entitled by virtue of his wife Mary, the “sole daughter and heir of John Thackston Brother to the said Col. James Thackston.”  (Mary Thackston Scott and her husband William Scott later moved to Davidson County, Tennessee.)
