According to the death record of Hila Ann Cooksey (b. 1828 Cumberland Gap area, Tennessee), she was the daughter of William Williams and Ailsey Thaxton. In 1880 and 1900, Hila’s father was reported as born in Virginia, and her mother as born in North Carolina. Anyone know this Thaxton line? And does anyone have Hila’s pension?
