About a year after the family arrived in the Utah Territory, Richard Cantley Thaxton (son of Williamson Thaxton and Mary Ann Sherry, grandson of Thomas Thaxton and Hannah Williamson) apparently ran away from home for a while. This ad, placed by his stepfather James Watton, appeared in the Deseret News, Salt Lake City, Utah, on Thursday, December 22, 1853 (click on link):
